Hey, it's Julie here,

I'm about to share a roundup with you, full of what I hope is super inspiring and helpful highlights from my creative world here at Clever Poppy!

On the Blog...

One of the most common questions I was asked during my last live embroidery workshop was 'What fabric should I stitch on?'

And I can totally understand! I know from experience how incredibly confusing it can be, standing in the middle of a craft store, surrounded by every kind of fabric imaginable, trying to figure out which one is best to stitch your next pattern on.

But don't worry, you can head to my blog article on this exact topic, so that you can easily figure it out!

What have our makers been up to?

I just adore this version of my Five Flowers pattern that our lovely member Lindsey stitched onto a cute Jamie Kay romper. She said:

"I'm thrilled with how my 2nd project turned out on this little romper for my baby's first Easter!  Five Flowers and I added in some little pollinators from The Gardening Bee 🐝. Thank you Julie for all your help!!"

What's inspiring me on the creative front...

I recently discovered Phoebe Gander, and I've been loving following her on the 'gram! Not only is her art inspiring (and she's a fellow kiwi!) but she shares really entertaining, insightful posts. It makes me want to get my paints out too! Here's the link if you'd like to dive into her world too.

Shop Spotlight...Alphabet Pattern

If you're looking for an embroidery pattern that you can make and gift to people - but that doesn't take weeks to make, then try my Alphabet Pattern! The pattern has a template and stitched example of each individual letter of the alphabet. Each letter can be made in a few sittings, especially once you get on a roll. They make such a special gift, as you can see by the examples made by our members below:

You can grab the pattern kit (which has enough to make 3 gorgeous letters) . Or if you've already got the supples sorted, then you can grab the digital pattern

In my world...

We're into our second week post school hols, here at Clever Poppy HQ. I love spending time with the kids over the holidays (it's one of the reasons I wanted to be my own boss), but it sure makes the workload pile up (I'm sure many of you can relate!). We had a really fun time though, catching up with family and mates.

The weather is finally cooling, so I'm looking forward to evenings snuggled up with my latest project, watching some good series with Matt. We are currently glued to 1883 (if you loved Yellowstone then this is a must!). And we just finished watching Euphoria - I loved it, but sheesh I'm glad my kids aren't teenagers yet.

We're also into the second week of Mondays Matter by Mikki Williden. It's all about eating well, and finding a plan that can stick long term. It has been awesome so far (so much less stressful than the water fasting I used to do), so we're pumped to keep at it.

We also celebrated Matt's 40th in a joint party last weekend. The theme was the 'Letter S', I'll pop a photo at the end if you want to guess our alter egos.

Ok that's all for now, I hope you found something to inspire your day!

Julie xx.
