helping daddy

Today we finally installed blackout blinds in Ben's room. It is too light when he goes to bed and he is finding the need to wake up with the sun, which is much too early for his mommy. Ben loved to help daddy install the blinds. He learned how to use his first power drill (under strict adult supervision!). He loved to hand daddy the things that he needed. He got a bit too jealous that daddy got to look out the window at all the dogs and cars and he didn't. Don't worry he got his chance! If he had it his way. He would stay in front of the window all day long. He points to everything and grunts and then looks at me to tell him what it is.

My "Big" Break!

How cool is this!! A photograph I took is on a billboard! And even better it is advertising the cutest swimsuits ever! Yeah for Lime Ricki!

"Talking"

Ben hasn't figured out how to make his voice say the words he knows, but he communicates in different variations of the word "ooh."

high pitched means "where did it go?"

low picthed and quiet means "i want that please"

low pitched louder means "not fast enough"

He know what "kisses" mean, but he would much rather kiss stuffed animals, wall stickers and books than his adoring parents.

He is always always pointing to lights. He has been obsessed since he was little, but sometime over the last week his fascination is on a whole new level. Any time we walk into a room with lights, or the cabin lights in the car go on, or we go to the grocery store he yells "OH OH OH' and points to them until we acknowledge how cool the lights are. If he finds a ceiling fant he will completely flip out!

Easter!

(sorry i look a little scary in this photo, but Ben looks so cute!!)

Looking back, I didn't take as many photos as I had hoped. I didn't take any formal Easter pics of Ben in his cute church clothes, I guess I will have to fake it down the road or something. But we did have a wonderful Easter. Our house was full of family and friends. The Easter bunny dropped off a basket for everyone. We had a delicious salmon and chicken dinner with strawberry shortcakes and mexican hot chocolate cupcakes for dessert (like the candy wasn't enough!) Ben loved the bunny from Grandma Cannon and the race cars the Easter bunny brought him. What a fun day!

sun and sand

Ben has finally overcome his phobia of his bare feet touching anything but carpet. He used to HATE his toes in the grass and sand. But now, good luck getting him out of it! He played on the beach totally content for a half an hour and then sadly we had to go home.

Water Babies!

How cute are these two in the tub!! The cabin we stayed at had the largest kitchen sink known to man. So large in fact two one year olds fit very comfortably inside. Yes they are in the sink, not the tub. They loved it. Ben was a little unsure about bumping bums with his cousin, but the water was running so he had no complaints!

We love you Adam

The last couple weeks have been very gloomy. Our family's Big White Samoan has left us for a much greater adventure. He will be missed so much. He has left a handprint on our hearts and our family that will never be forgotten.
