I am so excited to share with you our last pattern release of the year - Blooming Butterfly! This pattern is great if you are at the Excited Newbie level, but are looking for a little bit more of a challenge. This is because not only does it feature beginner stitches such as Back Stitch, French Knots and Woven Roses, but it also includes a whole lot of Satin Stitch, which can often be a bit quite challenging - so this is a great opportunity to progress in your embroidery journey by practicing this technique. Amy shared with me this beautiful driftwood tabletop Christmas tree, which her mum made for her this year, as an alternative to a regular tree - a solution to avoid her toddler pulling it down (I'm sure a lot of you can relate!). What a creative and beautiful way to add some festivity to your home, without all the worry! I have been following Mikki Williden and her protein packed recipes for awhile now, and its now strawberry season in NZ (yay!) so I had to make this Christmas salad recipe of hers. It was a perfect dish to take to a friend's Christmas party on Friday evening, and was a real hit! I thought I would share it with you as it is super yummy. I put my own spin on it by adding some cherry tomatoes and chopped tamari almonds and it really made it even yummier. Give it a try and let me know what you think! The highlight of my weekend was setting up the Christmas tree with the kids. In the past few years I've ended up in such a rush trying to get it decorated, with the added pressure of using it for styled client photo shoots (which meant it needed to look amazing!). But this year the stars aligned, and we had a whole afternoon to leisurely set up and decorate the tree. Plus it's purely for our own joy, so we had no set theme or style-level to reach, phew! We put on some carols and got stuck in. Even the kids popsicle-stick decorations from their kindy days were included. And overall, it's an eclectic mix of old and new, handmade and store-brought, and we love it!   In terms of Clever Poppy HQ news, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who shopped our Black Friday Sale!
