Our First Clever Poppy Team Retreat

Last week we had our first ever team retreat, where we brought our team over to beautiful New Zealand.

We had a ton of fun bonding as a team with activities like parasailing, boating, fishing and pottery 🪂 And of course, there was plenty of crafting and delicious food to keep us going. It was amazing getting to know everyone in person and we can't wait for the next one!

Split stitch

Split stitch gives a really even overall effect, which makes it a top pick for outlines and stitching words! It can also be used as a cool filler stitch, which builds up quite a textured overall effect. It's a very forgiving stitch, which makes it perfect for beginners. In my blog post there's a step by step video where you can learn this technique. I can't wait for you to give it a try!

Clever Poppy Maker Spotlight

This week, we're incredibly proud of our Maker's Academy member Tracy and her finished The Treehouse project.

She shared: "Two months ago you couldn't have convinced me I'd be capable of something like this… and here we are. I was intimidated a bit by all the French knots, but the trees were actually the best part to create! I loved how it all came together with each step.

PS - So grateful to this group for the feedback, encouragement, and camaraderie. You all are amazing ❤️ Equally grateful for Clever Poppy for these beautiful pieces and making it so easy and fun to learn a new hobby/craft!"

In Our World

I am still smiling thinking about the awesome week we had with our staff visiting! We are usually a fully remote team, so it was a real treat to see each other in person and share lots of laughs and cha. I'm already looking forward to when we next get together.

I've also come away with a STACK of tasks on my to do list. In addition to our usual pattern design flow, I've got lots of new projects to tackle. So keep an eye out for some exciting changes and improvements ahead!
