Here is a sneak peak of our trip to Lake Powell! So fun!

mr. fix it

Whenever Scott is working on a project, Ben has to be right next to him, on his lap in fact. Our handy vac broke and Ben was just as determined as his father to fix it. Ben did actually get it to turn on which scared the crap out of all of us. But they did end up fixing it! Hooray for my engineer boys!

just like mommy!

So I used to do this all the time when I was a wee little girl, except I used to crawl inside the drawer (Ben hasn't figured out that trick . . . yet). It is so fun to watch him grow up! Sadly right after he pulled out all of the stuff he slipped and bumped his eye on the drawer.

why buy toys?

Ben finds rocks to be much much more fun than any toy he has. He gets so excited to go sit outside in front of the neighbors house and grab as many rocks as he can and throw them. He oooh and aaahhhs about every single one. So funny.

Ben LOVES this commerical. Every time it comes on he rocks out and makes us replay it over and over and over again. So funny!

daddy's shoes

Ben has developed a serious shoe and foot fetish. He loves putting on shoes of all shapes and sizes. He gets so exited to put his own shoes on because that means that we are going outside or going to do something fun. He gets really sad when Scott puts his shoes on because that means that daddy is leaving for work.

uncle erik's lacrosse game

EHS mens' lacrosse made it to the playoffs and Ben and I went to go cheer uncle Erik on! It was a little breezy. But we had a great time. Ben of course spent most of the game chasing dogs and checking out the wheels on all of the cars.

We went flower shopping with Grandma Gwen. What was Ben's favorite part? The two huge weimaraner dogs and of course the rocks. I am telling you the kid is obsessed. We spend our afternoons outside tormenting the dog next door and walking up and down the sidewalk picking up rocks. He has a collection. I find his favorite rocks everywhere in our house: the kitchen, his playroom, the bathtub, his pack and play and my favorite, his crib. What a boy!

Happy Mother's Day to me!! What a day! Breakfast in bed made by the hubby! A super cute shirt picked out by the husband and a gift card to buckle! Followed by a delicious dinner at my mom's house with chocolate cake for dessert! (In case you were wondering, Ben's shirt says "Mom's #1 Fan!!")

So I know that this is a ridiculous amount of spaghetti eating pictures, but I just couldn't help it! My favorite pictures of me and my siblings when we were little were the spaghetti eating pictures. And this is the first time I just let Ben go to town with his food! So funny!

Just Like Daddy!

This is Ben showing us his favorite car.

This is Ben doing EXACTLY what his daddy used to do when he was little. We did not set this up. Promise! One of Ben's new favorite things to do is to hide behind the chair in our front room. The other day he was hiding back there and being very quiet. When we went to see what he was up to he was running his car along the window sill. Just like daddy!

Hooray for Kiersten!

Kiersten is officially graduated from Utah State! Hooray! Congratulations Kiersten! We love you. I think we had a little too much fun that day taking pictures!

Walking!

Slowly but surely Ben is figuring out that walking might be faster than crawling. He is getting really good. He can do laps around the kitchen table and walk from room to room to find me. Every now and then he gets a little too excited and ends up turfing it.

helping daddy

Today we finally installed blackout blinds in Ben's room. It is too light when he goes to bed and he is finding the need to wake up with the sun, which is much too early for his mommy. Ben loved to help daddy install the blinds. He learned how to use his first power drill (under strict adult supervision!). He loved to hand daddy the things that he needed. He got a bit too jealous that daddy got to look out the window at all the dogs and cars and he didn't. Don't worry he got his chance! If he had it his way. He would stay in front of the window all day long. He points to everything and grunts and then looks at me to tell him what it is.
