Hey, it's Julie here,

I hope you are enjoying your week so far!

In today's email:

  • Quick and easy thread bundle flowers
  • Members version of 'The Florist'
  • A buzzy new needle minder idea
  • A heartwarming story for mums
  • In my world: Just the three of us

On the Blog...

This is a wonderful way to create a flower with a whole lot of texture and life, that doesn't take hours to stitch.

If you'd like to learn how to create Thread Bundle flowers for your next embroidery project, you can learn how to make these in this simple tutorial over on my blog.

What have our makers been up to?

How beautiful is this version of my pattern 'The Florist" Vicki shared in our facebook group this week? She said:

"So happy with how this turned out. I always write on the back of my hoops when I finish them 💗"

What better way to go down memory lane than to write a message on the back of your finished projects?!

What's inspiring me on the creative front...

Our needle minders have been so popular, so we are planning some new designs! I've got some ideas whirling around in my head, and I have had lots of requests for a bee (which would be super cute).

If you have any other suggestions, hit reply I'd love to hear!

Something you might find helpful

So the other week while I was briefly browsing instagram (as you do!), a post popped up on my feed from a wonderful account I follow called "The Motherhood project" (I went to Uni with Gemma and I wish I had discovered her page when my babies were little!).

She shared a really heart-warming story, by a mum who built a connection with her son that some people 'frowned upon' as a bad habit. And how it came full circle when he was a teenage boy (in a good way). I have a very cuddly 7 year old son, so this story really resonated with me. And I know a lot of my fellow mums would relate to this too!

Here's the post you can check out here

Shop Spotlight...The Florist

This is such a fun pattern to make, perfect for those looking to challenge themselves to some new embroidery techniques.

This pattern is available in two different colour-ways - Blush Pink (with vintage blush pink linen fabric and matching threads), or Cloud Blue (with blue linen fabric and matching threads).

Either colour you pick, she will look stunning on your wall or as a gift to someone special!

You can either grab the pattern kit (which comes a printed copy of the pattern, fabric, display hoop and thread bundle), or the digital pattern (if you are sorted for supplies).

In my world...

Matt was away at a regatta over the weekend, so it was just me and the kids. I had such a cool time hanging out with them!

I used to find weekends like that quite draining and full on. But now that they're both a bit older (5 and 7), it feels more like we're actually spending quality time together, rather than me just managing them (ha, that still happened don't get me wrong!).

We even had a spontaneous dinner out together at a Japanese restaurant! I laughed because we were literally standing outside, waiting for the doors to open at 4.45, oh how things change. Apart from Piper nearly choking on her first bite of sushi (that's a story for another day), we had a really nice time.

But hey, Matt's back now, so I'm happy to be back to our usual co-parenting gig – and I really take my hat off to all the amazing single parents out there.

This week I'm focusing on my new pattern, which will showcase the new hair embroidery course. I can't wait to share it with you all, thanks so much for all the wonderful feedback so far.

Have a great week x

Julie xx.
