School has finished for the year (gulp), so that means the holidays have begun for our family here in NZ!
Unlike a lot of you in the northern hemisphere, for us, Christmas coincides with our big summer break. We kicked off the week with a little boating holiday with family, and got blessed with the best weather you could wish for. I'm really looking forward to a change of pace over summer, where I'll switch to lots of pattern testing and stitching and spending time with the kids.
Christmas day for us involves an al fresco dinner with family, lots of salads and fresh food. Hopefully sunshine, some backyard games, and sprinklers to cool off. I can imagine it's very different to a cosy Christmas in a winter setting – one day we'd love to see what it's like to have a white Christmas too!
It's only a few sleeps until the 25th, and no doubt I'm not the only one who has a busy few days ahead. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and get the chance to spend special time with people you love.
That's what life is all about, right? And more than ever, it's something we should be incredibly grateful for. Lots of love from our Clever Poppy fam to yours.
