| | We're cycling into the end of May with another beautiful beginner kit. Say bonjour to our Spring Ride kit! This pattern gives me warm vibes and makes me think of cycling back from the Farmer's Market on a lovely Spring day. You'll love the step-by-step video experience (where I take you through stitching the entire pattern). Order your kit today. | | | | |
On The Blog: A Beginner's Guide to Transferring Patterns to Fabric | | One of the first steps for working on an embroidery pattern is transferring the design to your fabric. There are lots of different methods of doing this – which is great (lots of options, woo hoo!) but that can also make it quite daunting for beginners (how on earth do you know which one to use?!). But don't worry, I'm here to help! In this guide, I'm going to show you my absolute fav methods for transferring your pattern to fabric. Then, I'm going to walk you through lots of other options, including the pros and cons of each. Plus there's a short quiz to help you decide which method works for your particular project.
Clever Poppy Maker Spotlight | | This week we're spotlighting clever maker Kimmie Lawrence. She said, "Clearly I should be in the running for Diamond Of The Season! I love what Julie and the team have achieved with clever poppy! The gift of sharing embroidery is priceless!" And we couldn't agree more, Kimmie's stitching is outstanding and her enthusiasm shines through. | | I'm sitting in my studio stitching up an idea, and having a wee chuckle. Because I'm watching the latest Bridgerton season, and it features a funny conversation where the ladies are chatting about various embroidery techniques. Perhaps the 'shift stitch' is next in line for our technique library? | | It does make me feel so happy that embroidery gets its moment in the spotlight. Because let's be honest my whole world revolves around stitching, and we all see first-hand how much joy it brings to our lives! On the Clever Poppy front, my days have been filled filming tutorials and designing a new beginner's alphabet pattern. I'll share a little sneak peek below - let me know what you think? Happy Stitching!
