Makers Academy Spotlight

This week, Makers Academy member Bethany S. put the final touches on her Intermediate Stitch Sampler 🪡

She said: "Putting the final touches on this one brought me so much pride and relief. I finished all but the turkey stitch and the bullion knots months ago. I watched the tutorials and tried and tried again, but I had no success on those two stitches.

Finally, yesterday, I found a quiet place, put in my AirPods and watched the tutorials as many times as I needed to finally get them. The turkey stitch is questionable and my first few bullion knots are very messy, but I left them as a reminder of my progress."

In Our World

This week has been a busy (and very fun) one behind the scenes at Clever Poppy. I've been spending lots of time working on our upcoming Advent Calendar, and it's honestly shaping up to be such a special project - I can't wait to share more as it comes together.

I've also been photographing our absolutely adorable new needle minders that will be popping into the shop soon… think a sweet little sausage dog, cosy tea and books, and even a little bunny. Life's about the small things right?

On top of that, we've been working through the applications for our Embroidery Content Creator role. It's been so exciting to see how many talented and passionate stitchers are out there. If you've been thinking about applying but haven't yet, now is definitely the time - we'd love to hear from you. Click here to learn more.

Just to keep things busy, we've also been away camping with our family here in New Zealand. We had rain, wind, sun, clouds, you name it. But it was totally worth it for quality time with friends, and making memories the kids will have for life!
