Learn how to do a French Knot French knots are such a fun bubbly stitch that is used in such a wide variety of embroidery patterns! As the name suggests, this technique involves creating little knots with your thread that add so much texture and whimsy to your embroidery patterns. This technique is featured in many of our patterns, including our 'Festive Motifs' pattern featured below. It is certainly a great stitch to learn and have in your repertoire of embroidery skills.  I have a great beginner's guide on how to do the perfect French Knot you can check out in our blog article here, along with all my tips and tricks. Christmas themed projects are in full swing in our members group at the moment, and I am just loving this cute tea towel shared by Nikki, which she has stitched the snowman from our 'Festive Motifs' pattern onto. What a cool and simple idea to elevate your household items to make them more festive!  She said: "I decided to make embroidered kitchen towels for Christmas gifts. Here is the first one, and I absolutely love it! Thank you, Julie, for your wonderful patterns!". I have been following Pheobe of @madeweavelove over on instagram for years now and have always been inspired by the beautiful creations she makes. Recently, she shared a reel that blew up overnight and now has nearly 30 million views! How amazing is that for her business?! You can check out the reel here, you'll see why when you watch it.  Something helpful... Amy shared with me the other week about this handy website she had discovered, which has a tool where you can enter any DMC thread colour code, and it will come up with multiple suggestions of the closest colours to the one you have entered. This would be such a lifesaver if you are wanting to make a pattern but don't have the exact thread colours handy! You can check it out here. Shop Highlight...Festive Motifs We are now at the peak time for Christmas gift making, and our customers really have been stitching up a storm! Festive Motifs Pattern Kit Grab your kit here! Buy Now In my world... Matt and I were super lucky to have a kid free weekend, while the kids had a sleepover with their cousins. We went out to lunch one day and brunch the next – and revelled in how relaxing it was compared to eating out with the kids (haha, that's a whole other story). We also went to see Six60 play at Eden Park – they're one of our fav kiwi bands and it was SO awesome to see them live again! It was raining on and off all evening, but luckily we managed to get our hands on what felt like the last ponchos available in Auckland city. So we embraced the weather and sang our hearts out for a couple of hours along with tens of thousands of other fans. So. Much. Fun.  Then we were surprised with tickets to the Killers concert on Monday night. They're one of our all time fav bands so after a quick scramble to find a babysitter we were off to our second concert in 3 days! Which is pretty funny if you know how rarely we go to this kind of thing. And they were amazing too! This week at Clever Poppy HQ, we've kicked off our Black Friday Sale, which is super exciting!
