- In my world: Quality family time
| | | | On the Blog...How to Transfer Your Pattern | | | If you are just starting out in the world of Modern Embroidery, then you will most likely be wondering how to transfer your pattern to your fabric. There are many different methods to do this - but my favourite is tracing. I have shared all of my top tips for transferring your pattern in our blog article here. I hope this helps you on your journey! | | | | | | | | | What have our Makers been up to? | | | We love seeing members personalise our patterns, and a perfect way to do this is with lettering. Check out this gorgeous version of our 'Blooming Lovely' pattern shared by our member Cailin. She said: "Personalised the Blooming Lovely pattern for my mother in law. My first time doing lettering and I'm stoked with how it came out!" | | | | | | What's inspiring me on the creative front... | | | I just had to share this beautiful piece with you, by the incredibly talented Gizelle Quinto ( @gisellequinto). Gizelle is a Brazilian embroidery artist, based out of Amsterdam. Her style is all about people, and combining painting with beautifully detailed embroidered hair and clothing. I'm sure all my curly haired gals out there would appreciate this piece as much as I do! If you'd like to check out more of her art, you can go to her Instagram profile here. | | | | | | | Amy shared this with me and we thought it might be helpful for the toddler mums out there. It can be pretty full on looking after young ones, and sometimes you just need to add some screen time to the mix for everyone's sanity (hands up if you can relate?!). Although it can be hard to find shows for your toddler that actually teach good morals, and are enjoyable for the whole family to watch. So this reel by @montessori.mothering was the perfect share for toddler TV show suggestions which are less stimulating, and more enjoyable to watch. There's lots of different viewpoints on this topic of course, but check it out if you think it would be helpful for your fam. | | | | | | | It's all go here at Clever Poppy HQ, because our live Home Sweet Home Workshop kicked off on Monday! It's going really well, and we can already see the amazing transformations starting to take place, as our lovely workshop crew make progress on their embroidery journeys. It's one of my fav parts of what we do! We're also focusing a lot on family at the mo – I read that apparently 75% of our time with our kids happens by the time they're 12. Eeeeek! Even if that's not accurate, it's a good reminder to make the most of each day. So over the weekend we took it slow and did things like building a hut in the lounge (who needs to eat at the dining room table?!) and going for a bush walk. It's amazing how such simple things can lift our spirits and create cool memories. Ok I better get back to it, I'm prepping for tomorrow's workshop, so I can make sure I bring my A game of course!
