| | Join The Maker's Academy! | | Every day I get multiple messages from people asking 'how do they buy my digital patterns'? And the answer is you can't – because they're all in my membership! So when you join the membership, you get instant access to our entire digital pattern library (50+ patterns). How cool is that?! Plus it's such a lovely supportive group of women from all over the world. We all hang out in a private FB group where we share what we're working on, ask questions and support each other. | | Modern embroidery troubleshooting | | Making mistakes and reaching roadblocks is a totally normal part of learning anything new – including embroidery! Here's a short blog with my tips on 3 common issues, including how to unwind a mistake. | | Welcome to the world baby Harper! | | We were so excited for our team member (and Matt's sister), Amy, who has just brought baby Harper into the world! Harper was born on the 31/01/24 at 9:52am, weighing 9lbs (4.08kg). Her parents are absolutely smitten with her, and her older brother Archer couldn't be more excited to meet her! Congratulations, Amy, here's to so many more special memories with this little one. x | | What have our makers been up to? | | Wow, look at all of these beautiful creations that our talented member Brenda stitched up in 2023! 😍 Brenda says: "My year in review. Thank you, Julie, for a wonderful journey. I look forward to learning even more in 2024!" We love seeing all the progress our members make in our group. You should be so proud of yourself Brenda, your art is gorgeous! 💕 | | What's inspiring me on the creative front... | | Wow, talk about turning trash into treasure, @joshglucksteinartist is a master! I am in awe of this London artist, who creates gorgeous life-size animal sculptures, like this Woolly Mammoth, out of cardboard. As well as creating zero-waste art, Josh aims to raise awareness for endangered species through his art and contribute to their preservation. He says that the "accessibility and versatility of cardboard with its many tones and textures, allows me to capture unique details and raw emotion." Check out more of his amazing cardboard creations here. | | Hilarious and awkward relatable video | | I was sitting at my desk at work when I discovered this video about awkward things people have done, and boy-oh-boy, the comments on this post had me crying with laughter. Like tears running down my face, Matt was wondering what on earth had happened. Here's an example from the comments section: 'Once while sitting in a pub beer garden, a smiling stranger approached my table and leaned in very close to me. I thought she was a friend of a friend giving me a kiss, so I kissed her cheek. Turns out she was a random person looking for her handbag which was underneath my table 😬' So if you're looking for a good laugh, check this video and the comments out! | | If you're reading this on Weds, it's the day our kids have gone back to school after the summer holidays. Woo hoo! We had an epic time over the last 7 weeks or so, and made so many more wonderful memories. And now, we can get back into a bit of routine. I'm looking forward to spending more time in the studio. The first thing I'll concentrate on is shooting my upcoming pattern called The Glasshouse, which I know many of you are dying to get your hands on. And, of course we're so incredibly happy for Amy and her beautiful new arrival - baby Harper. Have a great week, everyone x | | No longer want to receive these emails? Unsubscribe.
