Introducing...
You may have seen that I released this pattern as a kit in our shop last week. It's a sister pattern to Bee Happy, and we're already getting amazing feedback on how cute it is! They use starter embroidery techniques such as satin stitch, lazy daisy, and french knots to create these sweet flowers and buzzing bees.
And the cool thing is – the kit includes access to an epic step-by-step video experience. So you can rest assured that even if you're totally new, I'll help you learn embroidery and make your own Boot-iful Bees!
Pretty in purple is this Little Bouquet by our lovely member Amanda! ππΈ
She says, "Just finished up this Little Bouquet for my mother-in-law. She loves purple, so I used all the ones I have. I used stem stitch for the stems, and I love how it turned out!"
We love seeing all the different colour palettes that our members choose for their patterns. So cool! ☺️
What's inspiring me on the creative front...
I was so intrigued when I stumbled across the amazing work of @andrewscott_art, who specialises in artwork where the subjects are breaking through the frame into the real world. It's hard to describe - so trust me, check out his creations here! I especially love the ones where the subject is tearing the paper.
Glass blowing TV show
I know I don't usually share TV shows bu Lauren thought this one was awesome! If you like creative competition-based TV shows then you might enjoy 'Blown Away.' This show puts amazingly talented glassblowers head-to-head in challenges where their creative brilliance is tested.
In our world...
We're into the school holidays here in New Zealand – they sure roll around fast! So our days are filled with activities, play dates, working at the dining room table, and trying to juggle work, plus some relaxed time with the kids. Easy peasy, right?!
Piper went to an art class yesterday, where she made a giant doughnut. It was such a cool workshop, and I think she loved making something large-scale with lots of gluing and painting involved! We also saw Amy recently – remember Matt's sister who is part of our Clever Poppy team? She's on maternity leave with her gorgeous new baby Harper. Check out our proud Uncle Matty!
On the Clever Poppy front, I'm busily writing tips for how to work with layered fabric as part of the guide for next month's members pattern. It's really exciting to add this skill set to the mix, and I can see lots of colourful designs in the future featuring layered fabric.
Have a great week, everyone!

words to live by
Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend … when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present—love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us [happiness]—the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth. -Sarah Ban Breathnach
