SHARE MY PROJECT On The Blog: Satin stitch Satin stitch is one of my absolute favorite embroidery techniques - it's like coloring in with thread! This technique uses smooth, flat stitches placed closely together to create a shiny, satin-like surface, perfect for adding vibrant color and texture to your designs. While it might feel a bit tricky for beginners at first, with practice you'll be able to create beautiful results.   A key tip? Use directional lines as your guide to keep stitches straight and even. JOIN OUR FREE BEGINNERS FB GROUP Makers Academy Spotlight This week, Makers Academy member Michelle shared her gorgeous embroidered apron, complete with a pocket full of flowers and buzzing bees. 🐝🌸 She shared: "I'm an apron kind of girl! One for the kitchen, one for cleaning and now one for the garden. I've had this apron (100% cotton) for a while, this challenge gave me the push to finally bring it to life.  I'm so happy with how it turned out. I used a mix of floral designs from Clever Poppy patterns. I had originally planned to use woven roses but realised they would snag easily so swapped them out. The daffodils were a must for that cheerful colour pop. I'm now ready to go look fabulous in the garden!" JOIN THE MAKERS ACADEMY

In Our World Well, the past week has been a bit of a roller coaster. I sure am happy I have stitching to zone out with at the end of each day! This week I've been stitching florals on a tote bag and working to source quality blanks for our kits - I'm super duper happy with our progress. I also finished my 'just for me' veggie patch pattern, simply enjoying stitching for the fun of it. Last night, while watching a crime drama (of course!), I came up with a series of whimsical shopfront embroidery designs - a Christmas toy shop, a flower shop, maybe even a sweet or pet shop. What do you think? We could all use a little cute positivity right now… Have a wonderful week everyone!
