We Heart Pumpkin Patches

Last year Scott and I discovered the fun of picking out our own pumpkins at a pumpkin patch as opposed to picking one up at the grocery store. This year we took Ben along for the experience. The pumpkin patch we went to this year had a whole bunch of cool old tractors, a kids corn maze (we will do that next year), and lots and lots of pumpkins!

These are for Grandma Linda

Ben is the tubby king!! He LOVES the water. As soon as his tub is full and I am lifting him in, he pulls up his legs anticipating sitting in the water. And then when I lift him out he does the same thing indicating he is not ready to get out yet. He has come to grips with the fact that mom puts water in his face all the time. He loves exploring and trying to figure out everything around him.

Logan is a Rock Star!

OH man!! Thank you Logan! Logan and I worked together at Silver Pelican, she is now heading up Sprout Photo. She called me up and wanted to do pictures of Ben. I LOVE pictures of Ben so we jumped at the chance. She did a phenomenal job! We love you Logan!

Aggie In Training
We love going to Logan to watch Aunt Kiersten kick butt on the soccer field! We are her biggest fans. Ben and I were honored to catch an autographed soccer ball at the start of the last game. Aunt Kiersten has already started training him in the finer points of the game.

SIX MONTHS!!

18.5 lbs and 27 inches!
Holy cow!! Time has gone by SO fast! I can't believe how much my little man has grown up! My only regret is that I haven't taken more pictures and video of Ben. I am going to try to do a better job with that. He is still very into his toes. He sits up all by himself and detests any kind of a recline position while he is awake. He has finally learned to roll over, but for one purpose only: escaping tummy time (aka tummy torture). He has learned to love solid foods and will pretty much eat anything at this point. Nights are better he gets up 1-2 times a night, unless he is having a tummy issue. He laughs and giggles all the time and is the biggest flirt you have ever met when we go shopping.

Lake Powell Again!
Paradise!
Family Swim! Ben was singing the whole time!
Games with Grandma Linda!
Learning chess strategy from Dad and his Uncles.
The only sure fire way to get Sparky up in the morning.
Cousins!!
Of course there is a driving range at Lake Powell. At least a homemade one.
Yeah for Aunts and Uncles!
Clark the slalom maniac!!
How lucky are we that we got to go to Lake Powell twice!!! It was amazing to have all of the Bruderers together again after being separated by school, work, and what not. We soaked up every minute we could. Ben met Uncle Thom and Davis for the first time and were instant friends. I loved having so many aunts and uncles and grandma and grandpa there to play with Ben. I got a really nice break! The most notable adventures of the trip were the first and second night of the trip. Scott and I brought a tent to set up on the roof so that Ben and I could have some privacy during night feedings. Well the first night Scott got really hot so he unzipped the front of the tent. Later that night we heard something hitting the tent. I quickly realized that we had company with us in the tent! A bat had found its way in!! Great. Ben had just barely gone back to sleep so I was trying to keep Scott from panicking too loudly. We rushed out of the tent and Scott went to get his dad for reinforcements. Clark grumbled, "So take care of it" and went back to sleep. Scott went back in to find the flashlight and grabbed Ben's binki and thinking it was the bat he screamed and refused to go back in. So we slept out with everyone else. Night two: Ben and I are zipped in the tent. Ben wakes up to eat I feed him and then he has a royal freakout. I unzip the tent and crawl out for some fresh air and help from Scott. I hand Ben to Scott and then Scott grabs his neck and screams in pain and throws Ben back to me. Scott had just been bitten by some weird bug. Again he goes to Clark for help. Clark grumbles "You did not get bit." Upon protest Clark and Jason come over to investigate and find some funky bug that won't die. They eventually killed it and went back to bed. We slept inside the houseboat the rest of the trip after a few hints from the local wildlife.

Goodbye Swimming Pool

The pool is closing on Monday which is so sad because Ben loves it so much! He gets really really calm at the pool. He loves to chill out in the water and watch the big kids. He is my water baby! Hooray! (photo courtesy of my ghetto cell phone)

You Know You Are a Mom When . . .
1. Showers are a luxury.
2. You have to sing and play peek-a-boo while you are in the bathroom.
3. When you finally get a moment to yourself, "I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee" starts to play over and over in your head.
4. You wear the same puked on shirt two days in a row without thinking twice.
5. You calculate how long your baby has been sleeping down to the minute.
6. Your life revolves around what you can do in a three hour time block.
7. Every meal has a time limit. (Usually under five minutes)
8. Sunsets are painful because it means another night of interrupted sleeping is beginning.
9. As soon as you put on a "cute" normal person outfit, it is instantly covered with drool, puke, or pee (occasionally all three at once).
10. A gummy grin and giggle suddenly makes this list a little more bearable.

My New Boss . . .

He has been the boss of our household for almost five months, but now that I find myself unemployed (will work for money and food!) he is the boss of my whole existence!!! At least he is cute and cuddly and I can't understand what he is screaming at me, but that day will come too quickly.

The Best Toy Ever!

Ben has discovered his toes and now has endless entertainment right at his fingertips. He never stops playing with them. All day long; during diaper changes, when he wakes up, when he eats, when he sits, you name it!
