Hey, it's Julie here,

I hope you are enjoying your week so far! Here's what's happening this week at Clever Poppy.

In today's email:

  • A guide to choosing the perfect Beginner Bundle
  • A beautiful personalised cape made by a member
  • Beautiful and unique 3D nature embroidery art
  • Shop Spotlight: Daisy Blooms
  • In my world: first BBQ of the season

On the Blog... Which Beginner Bundle should I choose for the perfect gift?

I'm seeing a lot of chat in our members group, about getting organised with handmade Christmas pressies.

One of the main reasons our makers say they enjoy crafting is for the mental health benefits. But often we hear people saying they don't have the time, or don't feel justified in spending time or money on themselves. So why not hand them their me time on a platter and gift them one of our beginner bundles?

To hep you out, we have written this blog article which will take you through what beginner bundle is the most suitable for your loved one's unique personality and help you choose, so that you have the perfect gift to give. And you'll be super organised before the festive season even hits!

What have our makers been up to?

How absolutely beautiful is this little cape, which has been embroidered with our Bunny Blooms pattern by Cath? She recently joined our membership after participating in one of our workshops.

She said: "I've finally finished my Bunny Blooms project!
Julie, this has been the most fantastic journey to learn embroidery. I've joined the Academy to keep it up while the enthusiasm is this good. Thank you. I love these traditional arts brought into the 21century.  I think my 18mth old grandaughter will rock this little number. I am hooked along with the other crafts I do.  I've since done Blooming Lovely & a variation on Wildflower Meadow."

What's inspiring me on the creative front...

I just had to share with you this incredible 3D embroidery art by Pippa Haynes from Lemon Pepper studio. Her work is inspired by nature and she creates these beautiful unique, realistic and detailed patterns like the ones featured below (how cute is the wee vege garden?!).

If you would like to see more of her work, you can check out her insta page here.

Shop Spotlight... Daisy Blooms

Our Daisy Blooms pattern has a lovely soft, natural design which makes it versatile to display in any space, or great as a gift!

I would recommend this pattern to our Super Confident Makers out there. It is a wonderful pattern to practise your Satin Stitch and French Knots technique.

You can grab the pattern kit from our store - which has the printed pattern guide, fabric, display hoop and threads.

In my world...

Normally I would have some fun news about our life to share here, but to be honest the last week has been a bit of a grind! Both Matt and I worked all weekend (on separate days) and the rest was spent battling colds and doing admin at home. But hey, that's life sometimes isn't it. And while I love that as business owners we have the flexibility to take time off when needed…the flip-side of that is we sometimes need to put in extra hours when it's crunch time!

Thank goodness we had a lovely catch up with some mates on Sunday night, so we felt in the loop and refreshed before the new week. And it was even a BBQ – which was the first one in months and got us all excited about warmer weather on the horizon. Even if we all had to move inside before the food was served…

This coming week we are heading to the mountain for a long weekend away. I'm ignoring the fact that there is precious little snow at the ski-field (eeek!) and looking on the bright side of a fun weekend away with friends. I'm sure a hot pool and mulled wine will help.

Have a lovely rest of your week friends!

Julie xx.
P.S. The other weekend when my Dad was staying with us, we played an epic board game called 'Azul' which was so much fun! It's definitely unlike any game we have played before, but it has these cute little tiles which are super tactile (I think they appeal to the creative in me). If you love a good family games night, I highly recommend giving it a go for your next one!
