| | Last week we shared with you a simple way to finish your hoop, using a running stitch. So we thought we would take it up a notch, and show you another way to finish your piece which is a bit more challenging, using a felt backing. This is a great option if you are gifting your finished embroidery piece and want it to look just as good on the back of the hoop. It also helps to keep it flush against the wall when displaying your hoop. You can check out our blog article here to learn how to finish your hoop with a fabric backing. Have fun! | | What have our Makers been up to? | | Our members are loving having access to our 'She the Bee' pattern library, with lots of patterns to choose from designed by the lovely Krista. Check out this beautiful piece by member Olivia... She said: "Finished the Robins & Sunflowers pattern and I like the way it turned out! 🌻 It was fun working with way more strands. Also a little nerve wracking but it was great practice and I think the little robins are cute. It was fun stitching animals! Another #ConfidentMaker pattern down, and on to the next! 💕😊" | | What's inspiring me on the creative front... | | I just had to share with you this incredibly cute reel by the talented India Rose Crawford ( @indiarosecrawford), which Amy shared with me the other day. India predominantly focuses her creative time on making stop-motion videos, featuring the adventures of her knitted crochet 'Froggy' and his other animal friends. I am just in awe of the little details she comes up with, from the little outfits to the little accessories for the life-like miniature scenes she creates. If you'd like to check out her other work, you can go to her Instagram profile here. | | If you haven't heard of the best-selling children's books 'Ruby Red Shoes' by Australian author and illustrator Kate Knapp ( @missrubyredshoes), you should definitely check them out! I just adore these books and so does my daughter Piper. They're super cute with their whimsical illustrations, which have helped to inspire my pattern designs. | | | | | | We've had an awesome past week here in Auckland. The weekend was pretty much spent hanging with friends and family, which is the best way to fill our cups! And hey, we've had some sunshine, which is a sure-fire way to make life more fun. I've popped some pics of the kids at their cousin's place over the weekend, where there are so many cute animals to hang out with. Piper was in heaven with two little week-old lambs, who even had their own woolly jackets on. Let's be honest, I was too. It shows Spring is not too far away in this part of the world! Here at Clever Poppy HQ, I've been focused on our upcoming live workshop pattern – Cozy Cat. A decent chunk of the week was dedicated to writing the guide, daily workshop plan, shooting and video…the list goes on. Here's the link to a video I made about the BTS process, in case you're interested! We're super excited to see this design come to life, and I can already imagine how much joy it will bring as we stitch it up together. Watch out next month for news about registering your spot. Have a great week everyone! | | No longer want to receive these emails? Unsubscribe. Clever Poppy Ltd 39 Woodside Ave Northcote, Auckland 0627 | | | | |
