Bunny Blooms Workshop Replay...

We are happy to announce we will be running another replay of our free 'Bunny Blooms' workshop, starting Sunday 3rd September (PDT). The first 4 lessons are replays, and I'll host the 5th live. These workshops are always a fun and positive atmosphere, plus a great motivator to start AND finish a project. So if that sounds like something you'd like, then we'd love to have you join us! If you haven't tried the Thread Bundle Flower technique yet, what are you waiting for?! This technique can look complicated and daunting if you are a beginner, but it's really so simple and fun to do. It's a great way to create flowers with lots of texture and a 3D effect, which can really take your embroidery pieces to the next level. What have our Makers been up to?

We just love this version of 'The Florist' stitched by our member Krystal. And check out the progress she made just by stitching this pattern...

She said: "I have had this pattern since November, I've been afraid of not doing it justice but I must say I am over the moon with the outcome. I lost count of how many times I cut the tassels (flower) out because I was not happy with the outcome, but once I got the hang of them I must say I adore them. Julie Stuart instructions are so clear and make it accomplishable even when you think you can't do it. Thank you Julie, your amazing team and the members of the academy."

What's inspiring me on the creative front...

I came across this stunning floral rug by Punch needle artist and teacher Sallie Dale of @theurbancres and had to share it with you! Can you believe this full-size rug is completely handmade using Punch needle techniques. Imagine how many hours of work would go into this?! Something helpful...

I saw this recipe for an easy 1 Minute Mayo shared by nutritionist Jordan Pie (@jordiepieface). So I thought I'd give it a try - we often buy mayo (I know a lot of you will be the same) because we think it takes too long to make by hand, but this recipe just proves that theory wrong! It tasted waaay better than store-bought mayo, and also has the benefit of knowing there's no processed ingredients hidden in it, only good stuff. Try it out and let me know what you think! In our world...

The year continues to fly by, as our weeks are packed with work, after school activities, catching up with family and friends, and all the usual life admin. I can't believe it's nearly September! We're starting to talk about summer plans, book in camping trips and ponder school holiday logistics. Bring it on I say!

It seems to be 40th season here in Auckland, and we had a dress-up party over the weekend. Can you guess which couple Matt and I dressed up as?

Here at Clever Poppy HQ, I'm making progress on the rest of the patterns for 2023. And starting to think about designs for the new year. I'm also working on levelling up my set up for shooting video tutorials and workshops. It's a really big learning curve, and sometimes I find it hard to set aside hours to work on these systems, when all I want to do is pick up my needle, choose colours and lose myself in pattern development. But it's totally going to be worth it! And on that note, I better get back to it…
