| | If you haven't heard about our upcoming LIVE Cozy Cat workshop, then you are missing out! We now have over 1000+ people signed up to the workshop (including lots of our members, yay!), which kicks off with the first live lesson on Sunday 8th October (PDT). I am sooo excited to finally share this pattern with you and walk you through how to stitch it! It really is such a great experience. If you'd like to join in on the fun, you can register for the workshop below. And if you know of anyone you think would enjoy learning embroidery, please feel free to share the sign up link with them also. | | On the Blog... Tracing with a Lightbox | | One of the first steps of embroidery is tracing the design onto your fabric. There are lots of different methods for doing this, and one is using a lightbox. If you have been wondering whether to try this method, purchasing a lightbox could be a good option as they are reasonably inexpensive. I have put together this blog article for you which takes you through this method step-by-step, and discusses the pros and cons to using a lightbox. I hope this helps you to make a decision as to whether this is the right transfer method for you! | | What have our Makers been up to? | | How stunning is the colour palette of this version of 'Sweet Bouquet' shared by by member Laura? She said: "I Finally finished Sweet Bouquet. Shew! I've been so busy with life and trying to make time to do a little each night, but missed a few of those. Just thankful I got this done for my daughter. 💞" | | What's inspiring me on the creative front... | | I have always admired watercolour art, and there was just something about this piece called 'The Forest Witch's Shelves' by talented artist Lizzy Gass ( @lizzygass) that really caught my eye. The intricate detail of each little item and concept of it reminded me of something out of Harry Potter! Which part of this piece grabs your attention the most? Hit reply and let me know! And if you'd like to check out more of Lizzy's art, you can visit her Instagram page here. | | If you are looking for something new to listen to on your daily commute, this podcast episode by the Guardian was really interesting. It's about AI scams and how criminals are now cloning people's voices to trick people into sending them money. It really is scary the technology people are using now in this modern world to scam people - it definitely pays to be extra cautious. If you check it out I'd love to know your thoughts! | | It's the school holidays baby! I'm currently at my sister's place with the kids, while Matt and Amy hold down the fort at Clever Poppy HQ. Our goal for the next couple of weeks is to slow down, spend QT with family, have lots of fun…oh and did I mention slowing down? We definitely need it after a hectic past couple of months. And it will give me time to refresh, before diving into the Cozy Cat workshop as soon as the hols finish. I've brought a bunch of fabric and threads with me, plus my iPad and apple pencil. So on the work front, my goal is to switch off a bit and let the creative juices flow. If there's anything you'd love to see in a future pattern (e.g. a theme or topic), please do hit reply and let me know! Have a great week everyone xx | | No longer want to receive these emails?
