Hey, it's Julie here, I hope you are having a great week so far! Here's what's new at Clever Poppy this week... In this newsletter: - On the Blog: A simple guide to Split Stitch
- Beautiful member version of 'Pumpkin Cuppa'
- Fried chicken made from lego?
- A mind blowing hack for getting framed pictures to hang straight
- In our world: Quality family moments to treasure...
| | On the Blog... Learn Split Stitch | | Split Stitch is a lovely stitch to use for doing curved or straight lines. It can also be used as a filler stitch, which gives a lovely textured effect. If you haven't learnt this technique already, then you will definitely want to have this one in your toolbox of embroidery skills. Just jump on over to our blog article here, where we have an easy-to-follow guide to learning this modern embroidery technique. Happy stitching! | | What have our Makers been up to? | | How gorgeous is this version of our new pattern, 'Pumpkin Cuppa' made by our member Ginny?! She said: "Is this the cutest!? It was definitely challenging, and I made lots of mistakes but I still love it! I think I will make another one". | | What's inspiring me on the creative front... | | I never thought I'd be mesmerised by watching a video about fried chicken made of Lego…but you may feel the same after watching this reel by @hypnomotion. The way they've brought the scene to life with stop motion animation is sooo clever. They have lots of other foodie inspired Lego creations over on their page here. Hit reply and let us know which is your favourite! | | This reel blew my mind when I watched it! I am forever adjusting my framed pictures on our wall to get them straight... If you are the same, then you need to check out this hack! Check it out here. | | We celebrated Father's Day here in NZ over the weekend, so a big shout out to Matt for being the best Dad we could wish for! Our day also involved treasuring Grandads, Grandpops and Step-Grandads, with a big family dinner and video chats. It finished with a little dance party in our lounge as the kids begged for their fav songs…and the cutest thing was watching Amy's 2 year old Archer mimic the older kids dance moves. These are the moments to treasure in life! On the work front, I want to say thanks so much for the amazing reception of our new Pumpkin Cuppa guest pattern! How wonderful, I'm so thrilled you love it as much as Sophie and I do! If you missed the first drop of kits, don't worry we have more on their way – keep an eye out for when they arrive. Oh and I've been working on developing a new beginner pattern – similar to 'Little Wildflower Meadow' but pulled together into a little posy. It's still not quite right…but here's a sneak peek. I'd love to hear what you think about the colour palette? Have a great week! Julie | | No longer want to receive these emails? Unsubscribe.
