| | On the Blog... Make your own Paper Dolls | | For those that are on Summer Holidays with their kids and need a crafty activity in between all of the outside activities, this one's for you! A couple of years back I made this project with my daughter Piper in mind. These cute paper dolls are the perfect 'pretend play' activity to keep your little ones busy for hours (hopefully!). These could easily be packed up and taken anywhere with you, for your kids to play with on the go. You can find my blog article here with some free printables to create your own paper dolls. They even have cute little designer outfits and accessories included! I'd love to hear if you make these and what your kids thought of this activity! | | What have our Makers been up to? | | We love seeing members embrace our mantra 'progress over perfection' with their stitching. When our member Taylor shared her experience making this beautiful version of our 'Progress over Perfection' pattern, it was a great example of this. She said: "FINALLY!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Fresh off the hoop. This is my first confident maker pattern and one of my longest projects to date.. I loved doing all the flowers but the words were NOT my friend 😆 I had to constantly keep reminding myself that it is in fact progress / perfection on this one… but I'm happy with it! I followed Julie's rule with taking some steps backwards and admiring it from a far, and it looks just fine. ❤️ Now on to the next! My only problem is, I can't decide if I want to do one of Julie's patterns or one of the new She's the Bee patterns from the collection added this month…" | | What's inspiring me on the creative front... | | Amy recently shared this reel with me, by artist Samalia Swan ( @samalia.swan) which really pulled at my heart strings! Samalia is an artist based in Koh Samui, Thailand and quit her business to travel, and spread kindness by drawing these amazing portraits of people on the spot. She then surprises them by giving them the portrait, and records their reaction. She is super talented and it is just so inspiring to watch. She also does portraits on request. You can check out the rest of her beautiful videos and art on her Instagram page here. | | I came across this post the other day by @writers, and thought so many of us can relate. It made me think of a time recently (after the tragic loss of Matt and Amy's mum Sue) where the family were all sitting around the table, looking through old family photos of hers. It was so nice to look back on those memories and talk about them with the kids. There were candid pictures of Sue through the years, all so special in their own ways. It made me realise how important it is to keep those memories alive. So to sum up, I felt like this post was a great reminder that we should embrace having our photo taken – you're more beautiful to your loved ones than you'll ever know. | | We're into the last week before the kids finish school on Friday and the school holidays begin. They'll be off for 2 weeks, and we're really looking forward to spending some time away with family. So for me, it's a bit of a busy time trying to get ahead on workload. I've been shooting our pattern which drops in Aug, and working on a guide about transferring your pattern to dark fabric. I know this will be such a helpful resource for many of you! Plus our next live workshop is in the back of my mind, and I need to get cracking on developing the pattern. Thanks so much for your ideas! I've got a pretty good idea of what the theme will be, and can't wait to share more… Have a great week everyone! | | No longer want to receive these emails? Unsubscribe.
