| | On the Blog... Tips for Embroidering Letters | | Embroidering letters is one of the best ways to personalise your handmade creation. There are many ways you can include these, for example a recipient's name for a special gift, a message or phrase you would like displayed in your home, or initials and a date to remember when your piece was completed. It is often the perfect finishing touch to add to any embroidery piece. But you might be wondering how do I stitch letters? Or what stitch do I use? Well we have you covered in our blog article here, which includes lots of helpful tips for adding lettering to your embroidery piece. We hope this comes in handy for your next project! | | What have our Makers been up to? | | We love seeing our members encourage each other! This gorgeous version of 'Progress over Perfection' shared by Nadine stood out to us when we saw it pop up in our member group. Not only because of the beautiful stitching and colour palette, but because of the feedback she shared. She said: "Finished my progress over perfection piece! I was nervous to do the letters but in the end embraced the message! Thanks for all the words of encouragement on an earlier post re stitching letters 😘" | | What's inspiring me on the creative front... | | When I saw this incredible piece by Danielle Clough ( @fiance_knowles), I knew it would be some great inspo to share with you, especially if you are looking to expand your skills to combine different crafts together. Danielle is and embroidery artist based in South Africa, and her art is predominantly portraits. She combines embroidery with punch needle techniques to create some unique works of art full of texture. You can check out more of her art here on her Instagram page. | | If you are into DIY crafts (which I know a lot of you are!) then you will love this DIY activity shared by Sibia Torres Padilla ( @sibster), using egg cartons to make beautiful floral string lights. This is easily something you could get the kids involved with too. Don't they look so pretty?! You can check out how to make these here. And Sibia has many other DIY crafts you can check out on her Instagram page here for more ideas. | | - Festive Friends Pattern Kits restocked - Many of you will be pleased to know that we now have more of our 'Festive Friends' Pattern Kits restocked in our shop. | | | | | | The second week of the school hols flew by, and now we're all back home in Auckland. It was so good to see Matt after 2 weeks apart (the kids are always campaigning for him to come on our school hols trips too). My first day back in the studio was straight into hosting day 1 of the Cozy Cat workshop. I sure had to turn my brain back into full on work mode. And it has been going so well! I absolutely love hosting these workshops (even if I get a bit nervous to start). It's all worth it when I see the amazing progress being made by our makers, and the happiness they get by taking time out to stitch each day. We're already seeing lots of patterns personalised into makers own furry friends which is super cute. It's not too late if you'd like to join in, just click this link here to take part. Have a great week everyone! | | No longer want to receive these emails? Unsubscribe. Clever Poppy Ltd 39 Woodside Ave Northcote, Auckland 0627 | | | | |
